I would like to show a tendency of human mentality—disguising one's oneself—through my artwork. We like to use the word, "communication" today but we actually know that it is hard to communicate with each other because we put on masks. I have observed the fact that many people disguise themselves in their relationships. A disguise can be a way to protect themselves as well as a way to attack other people, which is a defensive posture. Specifically, it leads introverts to examine themselves in relationship with other people's relative viewpoints. In doing so, they are often afraid of being affected by the other perspectives. Furthermore, in worst cases, their minds are hurt by different forceful opinions. Here their defensive postures are unconsciously formed by disguising their own defects from the people. In this regard, my painting is a struggle to act up to myself by depicting my original insights toward the world shaped by diverse people. I hope this intention can be delivered to viewers well.
